Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus
In the corrupt heart of the Sword Coast, the city of Baldur’s Gate teeters on the edge of chaos. Crime festers in every alley, noble houses war from the shadows, and dark pacts are struck behind closed doors. But a greater evil stirs beyond the city’s walls — the first layer of the Nine Hells, Avernus, is claiming the innocent in its infernal war. As Baldur’s Gate begins to slide toward damnation, the adventurers must uncover the truth behind its descent and stop the world from being dragged into hellfire.
The journey will lead them from grimy streets to infernal battlefields, where they will face devils, war machines, and the seductive lure of power itself. Can mortal heroes resist corruption, or will they, too, be forged in the fires of Avernus?
When the holy city of Elturel vanishes in a flash of blinding light, its people cry out for salvation. But no divine answer comes — only the truth that the city has been dragged into the Nine Hells. Refugees flood into Baldur’s Gate, spreading fear and whispers of celestial betrayal. Amid the growing panic, the Flaming Fist tightens its grip, and the streets become a crucible of greed, desperation, and blood.
The adventurers are thrust into this chaos, drawn into a conspiracy that spans from the mortal world to the infernal planes. To save Elturel — and perhaps their own souls — they must descend into Avernus itself, the scorched wasteland where archdevil Zariel wages her eternal war.
There, they will pilot infernal war machines, strike bargains with devils, and confront the burning truth behind Zariel’s fall. Every choice will shape not only their fate but the fate of countless souls chained to the infernal war.
This campaign begins at level 1, where even the smallest spark of courage may ignite the hope to redeem the damned.
Before stepping into the infernal flames, please ensure you have the following:
You’ll need a stable setup for clear communication and smooth performance during our streamed sessions.
We’ll be using StreamYard for live session broadcasts and communication. Make sure your camera, microphone, and internet connection are ready. StreamYard links will be provided before each session.
Create your character in D&D Beyond, ready for the streets of Baldur’s Gate. Choose wisely — morality, loyalty, and temptation will all be tested as the campaign unfolds.

While our characters battled through a mountain fortress to save friends, we proposed the idea of creating a B-Team of characters to face a dragon attacking local towns (occuring at the same time). Through hard fought battles, both parties were victorious but the heroes were in great need of downtime and fun. They recieved letters inviting them to a tropical island and through a bit of magic, both parties found themselves enjoying ocean surf and sandy beaches (among other things!). The player group has been having a really great time role-playing both their main characters and B-team characters interacting with each other on this vacation from Icewindale. Kudos to Panthea for creating this opportunity and facilitating our character shenanigans!
Panthea has been such a wonderful DM to play with. One of my favourite things is the great community she has fostered on her server. As a queer person I’ve always felt safe and actively welcomed both at Panthea’s table and in the community of players she has created.
And of course, Panthea is an extremely dedicated GM. She works hard to honour your vision for a character within the game and to make things fun and provide variety. Balanced opportunity for combat, exploration, and roleplay. I’m currently in two games with Panthea and each have different vibes that fit the story, players, and characters.
Joining the games with Panthea has legitimately brought so much to my life with the community of players and GMs she has curated on her server, and I’d happily recommend her to anyone looking for a game.
As a player, I whole heartedly agree with previous reviewers’ feedback about Panthea (Madelyn) as a GM. Time is a valuable resource and as a player you’re getting a great value experience at Panthea’s game table and discord server, whether you are new to virtual table top role playing games or someone who has been playing dungeons and dragons since the early editions (like myself).
Let’s be honest about the world we live in: it is difficult to find a GM you feel like you can “connect” with at the table that checks most (or all of the boxes) in terms of player engagement, and it is doubly hard to find a player group where the chemistry is ALSO good. The community Panthea has developed facilitates an environment where all parties (newbies and veterans , players and gms, alike) can interact in a way that promotes positive growth for everyone. At least in my limited VTTRP experience the past few years, I can see a very noticeable difference in the types of interactions I can expect from Panthea’s community.
Shout out to Panthea for creating this special place where we can also make new friends and have fun together with shared storytelling!

If you're like me, you probs were nervous about committing to the whole paid game concept. I was too, and I immediately came and read reviews to scope out the vibe of each GM. Let me tell you, you will do no wrong joining a Panthea game. Panthea (or Madelyn) immediately set the tone in our interactions on my signing up for one of her games. She was extremely kind and supportive. Through her adventurous and exciting games, I have gotten to experience Foundry VTT firsthand. She has been very patient and helpful in my understanding of this system. Through Panthea, I have also joined a wonderful Discord service full of fun, positive, D&D-loving people that have always made me feel welcome. And it goes without saying that she is an amazing, trustworthy GM. She has worked with me on any questions or concerns I have had, and I have never felt unwelcomed or unwanted in her community. If you're looking for a D&D group to call home, one where you can have a great time and meet like-minded people with similar passions, then sign up for one of Panthea's games. You won't regret it!
Panthea was so wonderful to play with for our friend's event. She ran such a smooth game even though we had a couple new folks and no experience with the software! It was so fun to reconnect to distant friends with her quick and creative guidance. She handled our left fielders with grace in spite some of my doofus rolls!
Madelyn led a super fun, lighthearted, & immersive one-shot campaign for my birthday celebration. Our group largely consisted of some veteran table-top players, and Madelyn was absolutely incredible! I look forward to embarking on future campaigns with her, and highly recommend others do the same.

As a first time online rpg player (and as someone awful at using electronics) she has been incredibly patient and thorough as a DM. She always takes the time to walk people through anything they don't understand and helps with every step of the process. Our sessions are always a hoot and so much fun. Highly recommend.

Madelyn (aka Panthea) is a wonderful DM who cares about her players and strives to make gameplay enjoyable. She is patient and really helps new players learn and understand the game as the campaign progresses. If you are a new player, a veteran player, or somewhere in between, I think you will enjoy playing a campaign with Madelyn.

First time playing with Madelyn, and she really understands the importance of player agency and collaboration. She even just had a check in with me at the 10th session to see how the game was going. And to see if there was anything she could improve on or I wanted to see in the game! I am really happy that I was able to get into one of her tables! I definitely recommend her for new and veteran players!

Panthea has done a great job DMing for our campaign! It had been a long time since I'd played an online RPG and she took the time to help me set everything up and answer all my questions. Our sessions are always a lot of fun and keep me invested in the characters and the story. She has a discord server where players can become more engaged if they want, and share their art projects or build their characters.
Panthea DM’d Curse of Strahd for me, my fiancé and a couple of other people we didn’t know. She provided a great experience, especially since some of us were newer players. It was easy and comfortable to ask questions about making a character, things I wanted to tie into my character, and how to play a TTRPG overall. We even asked to continue after Curse of Strahd!
I enjoyed playing with Panthea, I’m new to RPG, she made the story come to life and it was easy to understand and play. I would definitely recommend newbies and experienced gamers to play with her.
The death house was my favorite experience in the game.
