Welcome to RPG Club.
I became enthralled with the idea of roleplaying when I was 10 years old. My classmate brought in a copy of the Star Wars RPG guide to our lunch room, and I was hooked, for life. The stories I'd had heretofore in my head could now come to life.
This was exactly what I was looking for, a way to tell stories with my friends. But there were two problems: finding somebody to teach us how to play, and actually putting a game together.
RPG Club is the answer to both those questions.
I knew, at that young age, that I wanted to do something with RPGs in my professional life, and I’m thrilled to share this decades long process with you all.
This space exists to put you together with a teacher/mentor/guide Game Masters, to enjoy incredible adventures, and foster community instead of frustration.
I bring my 15 year career in professional education to this space's philosophy. One summer, it dawned on me: kids love a great teacher, and we all are just large children that with awe and wonder deep within our souls, it's just been buried under “adulthood”. I decided to help teach adults how to play D&D. I went to the local pub, put up a “want to play? $5 per seat” sign. My table filled to 14 players within two weeks, and the RPG Club story was off and running.
Since 2019, RPG Club has set about to teach as many players as possible how to live amazing adventures. Several years on, we’ve never looked back.
Philosophy and Practice:
RPG Club expects itself to provide you with the absolute best experience possible. Here’s how we do that.
Player focused: We are here for you, to help you live your adventure. If you need help, we have your back. We believe that while every table may be a bit different, there is a game out there for everybody, and we want to help you find it. Our business is about your engagement, immersion, and growth in an incredible hobby.
Game Mastering is a skill: There are innate skills employed by the best Game Masters such as patience, kindness, and expert facilitation. These skills allow you and your teammates to tell immersive, engaging stories. Our GMs must possess a teacher, mentor, and guide skill set, along with all the skills required to run a great roleplaying game session.
Community is a process: A great RPG session develops from a shared bond and trust amongst the players and the GMs. We want to foster those spaces for you and your fellow players.
Accountability: We stand by every minute of every game we provide, and we’ll do whatever we can to make things right.
