About

Greetings all Adventurers, Scoundrels, and Crewmembers! My name is Jeremy and I have been playing TTRPGs off and on for about 15 years, but really got serious after 5e D&D was released. I finally had a steady group to play with, and just kept playing! I started running drop in games for beginners at breweries and restaurants almost 7 years ago and then shifted to online games in 2020. While D&D 5e got me started, I’ve migrated towards other games in the last few years, incorporating them into my 5e games when I can, or running them on their own to highlight their strengths. I enjoy narrative and story-first games that let the players take control,  like Ironsworn and Blades in the Dark, as well as Old School style games like Mork Borg and ShadowDark, which can be very brutal and deadly. I’m always looking for new games to add to my collection and enjoy supporting indie creators whenever I can. This basically means I’m a huge nerd when it comes to mechanics and storytelling techniques, with too many games to ever play them all!

My Play Style and Approach: My games tend to be more roleplaying focused, with components of worldbuilding during the exploration of the world and your character’s story. I am a huge fan of “Building Worlds Through Play” and often incorporate parts of storytelling games into my campaigns, giving the players the opportunity to have a larger influence on the world they adventure in. Sometimes I run entire sessions of worldbuilding and storytelling so players can have the opportunity to create rich locales and lore to use as inspiration in their other games.

Sometimes the stories we tell are grand and heroic, and sometimes they are short and unfortunate. While I enjoy quick and dirty one-shots or “short shots” (2-3 sessions) to introduce players to a new game, I absolutely love longer campaigns, where the time can be taken to explore the characters, and the world, together.  They tend to be slower paced and character driven, giving the players more freedom and agency than a typical adventure. If you enjoy published adventures with clear objectives, I might not be a good fit. If you want an open ended adventure where the characters decide what to do next in a world to explore and expand upon, then we should chat.

I love talking about TTRPGs, so feel free to find me on the Discord channel, or Instagram and Threads for any questions you might have.

What I Provide: My sessions make use of Zoom, with limited visual aids. I prefer to leave the world a bit abstract to allow for more creative solutions from the players. I have also found that players, especially new ones, can become overwhelmed keeping track of multiple windows and apps while also trying to learn how to play. Let’s keep it simple so we can focus on the story and the world you will be exploring. For D&D sessions, we will use DnDBeyond and I will set up a campaign for you to join. For other sessions, I will always provide access to the full rules pdf, a quick reference or player guide, and pdf character sheet (form fillable whenever possible).

What You Need: A webcam, a mic, and a way to roll some dice. Again, let’s keep it simple so we can focus on the story.

A truly excellent GM that is equal parts immersive story-crafter and new system guide.

Jeremy is a consumate storyteller and really gifted at teaching systems to players of all skill levels. Whatever story is to be told in one of Jeremy’s games will be enjoyable due in large part to his commitment to collaboration with his players. He always works with his table to craft the right narrative around what they want to play while also throwing wrench after deadly wrench in the works along the way. I can’t recommend playing in one of his games enough whether you are a beginner or an old hat with many TTRPGs under your belt.
