About the Adventure

SMALL PROBLEMS

(a Small-Shot 5e adventure)

Your group has just been tasked with sneaking into the hallowed halls of the Lady of the Spire, a commanding cathedral in High Hold.  For locked within a vault of antiquity are precious relics that the church doesn’t want to share with the royal family of the Sol Spire.  Rare intel that has cost your thieves’ guild The Wolf Pack dearly, but it’s finally time to collect.

However, the arch-bishops of the Lady of the Spire have not made their home hospitable for those with “light fingers”.  Your team is going to need to dip outside normal rogue members in order to overcome much of the protective magics surrounding this treasure.

Byron Crow has been cultivating this heist for months, finally approved by the Godfather of the Wolf Pack. He has pulled in this elite team that you are a part of… the risks are great, but so is the reward.  A meteorite from the moon goddess herself; witnesses attest to an orb of precious metal and marble bringing a knight back from the dead.  It also seemed to allow one to speak to ancestors long gone.  This rough shard of Sol’isis allows the wielder to perhaps even step between the worlds of the living and the dead!

It’s the night before the heist… a last moments preparation before testing the church’s defenses.  Good luck…

What to Expect: this is a longer than a one-shot, but shorter than an adventure… it’s a Small-Shot (phrase coined by me—I’m trademarking it!).  This will take a group of elite adventurers roughly 2 to 3 game sessions.  It leads them through a very harrowing heist of an artifact of unknown significance, through the fencing of that item… and the divvying up of treasure; which never goes wrong. (cough)

What to Bring: Your characters should be stealthy, skilled operatives with somewhat sliding morals, but can be of any class and background.  Byron Crow has vetted you over the past few months and while you don’t know each other, this is by design.  Your characters should be 8th level with one uncommon and one rare magic item.  Leave one attunement slot open as the guild has a specialized item to give each of you for this mission.

Age Range:  Despite the nefarious bend of this mission, this is a teenage friendly adventure, designed with numerous skill checks, puzzles and “small” combat sections that will in some cases be harrowing and hilarious.

Oh, you might want to also pack an escape route…
