Pasion de las Pasiones is the primetime telenovela in every home. The current series is called “The Hotel of Dreams” and it follows the dramatic lives of the employees and friends of the hotel as they begin summertime romances, uncover dark secrets, and forge bonds that will last forever in the minds of its viewers.
The Hotel of Dreams sits upon a beautiful craggy coastline, but the majestic property of the elegant hotel has gone through turmoil. The owner of the hotel died in a freak boating accident at the end of last season. And this season finale is sure to bring as much shock and surprise.
Take on the role of one of the characters in the show, describe what happened “last time on…” and uncover new passions that will make this episode the most dramatic yet.
This game is high on roleplay and embraces the loveable eccentricities of telenovelas.
How to Prepare
This game will teach you how to play from the ground up. No prior experience is necessary. Feel free to come to the first session with nothing but a desire to play.
The only thing you need to be concerned about preparing is your audio/video components on your computer. Cameras are not required, but they are recommended. Microphone is necessary.
You don’t need to be familiar with telenovelas, but it doesn’t hurt. Feel free to watch a popular show or two, ore even the Americanized Everybody Loves Ramon to get a feel for the content and dynamic. Nacho Libre, though not Telenovela, highlights many of the same themes and format.
Materials Provided
All materials that you need in order to play will be provided. If you prefer physical dice, you may use them as long as the rest of the table agrees. If you do, you’ll need two d6 dice (the normal dice). Everything else you need will be provided: characters, character sheets, maps, digital dice, rules, etc.

TTRPG players who enjoy light-hearted fun and dramatic turns of events will enjoy this game.
TTRPG players who know that ‘failing’ a dice roll is really just an opportunity for the story to develop in unexpected ways will enjoy this game.
Players may not enjoy this game if they only play TTRPGs for the combat, if they have difficulty sharing the spotlight, or if they don’t enjoy thinking of creative ways to approach situations.

You will be provided direction for creating characters during the game. The game relies on inter-relational characters, and so characters must be created during the game itself.

This game is Powered by the Apocalypse, a rules-lite system that encourages creative engagement more than dice-rolling.

This game exhibits gameplay for mature audiences (17+). The content may include romance, comedic violence, realistic violence, substance abuse, and themes of Hispanic culture.
I was part of a recent campaign and EJ did a fantastic job. The storytelling was great, and the encounters were engaging. Excited to get back in and play again.
I had an amazing one shot last night and I had a lot of fun. A small group of people but it was still very entertaining and engaging. Answering any and all questions we had and made it very easy to play! Would def recommend!!!
This was my first time playing a full campaign and EJ made it amazingly fun! There were so many things that I wanted to do with my character and EJ was always open to it or found ways to make it even more interesting! He’s very easy to talk to if you have any sort of questions and I always appreciated how comfortable he made the sessions feel! Our campaign lasted for over a year but it never felt boring and there was always something new or interesting happening! EJ also creates such lasting and impactful moments between characters with his wonderful descriptions and narrations. I am so grateful to have been able to play with him and can’t recommend him enough to others!
EJ made my first experience playing with RPG Club welcoming, comfortable and enjoyable. Our mini-campaign was full of adventure, zany characters and had lots of room for exploration and roleplay, balanced with plenty of support for new players as a learn-to-play module. Would highly recommend him for beginning and experienced players, alike. Thanks, EJ! Hope to play with you again, soon!
I had the pleasure of finally getting to join one of EJ’s games last night, and even though I didnt know much about a system that I had barely heard of, all we needed to bring was ourselves and to be ready to relive our lives as curious Kids.
EJ took the time to include every player, ensured we knew a lot about our little band of player Kids, and guided us along a masterful and cute little adventure as we discovered something amiss while we lived our best lives being Kids, siblings, besties and enjoyed each other’s company.
EJ is a wonderful GM. Patient, very engaging. Listens and always happy to help or clarify a rule or situation as we inevitably stumbled into trouble. It was a joy to play, and the time still flew by even as we overran (and he graciously let the one shot play out and not rush us to any finish).
I have been wanting to join a game of EJ’s for a while and it did not disappoint. Time zone differences mean it may not happen too often but I will definitely do my best to keep an eye out. Shout out to my fellow Kids (Lauren, Bethany, Dustin) as we all had a blast (and bought way too much ice cream, worms and crackers lol)
